The Ranger is the Light Unit of the Colonial Age. It is a well-balanced army unit, with very respectable attack and defense stats. They are most effective against fast units and ranged units. It has a huge leap in attack and defense compared to Great Sword Warrior, gaining +10 on defense and attack. It is very effective against all other same age units due to its "Stealth" ability, except
Colonial is probably the 'golden age' to camp in, then it seems like Future era gets a ton of votes as the 'best' later game era to twiddle one's thumbs and demolish your 'hoodies. Super Catanian said: A few technologies in the Early Middle Ages will require Bronze Age Goods. Some negotiations in the Continent Map around that age (inlcuding the bonus Provinces) will also require a mix of them, if you'd rather negotiate than fight. Bronze/iron age fast units are sub par at best and should not even be considered to use for defense. Early/high middle ages are decent and you may decide to use them. Nov 4, 2021. #3. Presuming you have access to a 1.9 thread, to achieve an incremental 10% in attack it will cost about 5000fps for Zeus, or about 5500 for CoA, or about 6000 for CdM. Not considering the cost of the goods, taking a TA to level 5 will get you the 10% attack increase at a cost of about 1000fps.
